Speaking Truth To Regrets
After 19 months of virtual events, it was deeply gratifying to lead 5 different events in 3 cities over 5 days!
When teams get together, in-person (safely), to risk vulnerability and experience gratitude together, the transformations are life-affirming.
During a recent session with the executive team at Carson Group, one of the world’s leading financial advisory firms, we witnessed leaders sharing powerful stories of regret in their life.
People shared regret for forgetting their childhood.
Regret for causing harm to others.
Regret for leaving words unsaid to people who are now gone.
By speaking truth to these regrets, something shifted.
People uncovered emotions that were dormant for years.
They apologized for things they did wrong and forgave people who wronged them. They became more self-compassionate—even for mistakes they had tried to bury in the past.
And this all happened in front of their coworkers.
Being vulnerable with the people we work with is never easy, but sometimes it's worth the risk when it leads to greater trust and connection.
What would it be like for your team to connect with this level of vulnerability?
Thanks, Carson Group, for trusting us!
