12 Year Anniversary of my Last Tattoo
Today is the 12 year anniversary of my last tattoo; April 26th, 2009.
And oh golly, how prevalent of a message it is in today's day and age.
What does it say?
“God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.”
Over this past year, many trying times have been presented our way. And these experiences have likely fallen outside our own locus of control.
Anxiety and stress does not occur from those experiences. It’s rather our response to those experiences that creates such detrimental emotion.
We must have the serenity to not let ourselves be burdened by the actions of others so much so that it would throw us off kilter and prevent us from acting according to our own integrity.
Accept those circumstances. But then develop the courage to stand up for things that we can control, especially when doing so can have a positive impact on others.
Giving gratitude to such unpleasant events gives us the focus and clarity to realize there were positives that came from them.
This is wisdom.
We hope it will lead to a lot less anxiety, nervousness, and stress in a world where we can come together and celebrate the overcoming of adversity.
