Pay Your Gratitude Forward

Have you ever forgotten to thank someone? How did it make you feel when you realized you hadn’t thanked them?

After reflecting on a person one 7:47 event attendee, René, had forgotten to thank, she expressed feeling regretful. She wished she’d expressed her gratitude sooner, especially now that the person was no longer living.

I can’t tell you how many people I know wish they could thank someone who’s no longer with us.

But here’s the good news about gratitude: It’s not just about paying it back; it’s also about paying it forward.

When we acknowledge any feelings of guilt, shame, or regret, we also invite forgiveness into our lives, which clears the way for more inspired and intentional action.

We don’t have to wait 40 years to pay our gratitude forward—we can start today.

We can thank the person we’re grateful for now by taking their story, their legacy, the values they live by—and making them part of our stories. We can then take our story and share it with others.

How will you pay your gratitude forward?
